    really hot Catera

The engine in my Catera tends to get super hot when driven at a more than legal speed for a little while... The check engine sign usually comes on until it cools back down.

Problem is, the engine temp gauge doesn't say it's hot? the gauge works for everything else. It tells me when it's up to temp or when it's cold.

I am going to siphon the coolant out and replace it with some fresh Dex cool, but I don't think that would be the problem.

My left rad fan also doesn't blow, it needs to be greased or loosened up in some way which i am going to work with asap.

Any tips of what I could try would be great!

make sure the coolant is still coolant and not thick and muddy. i just fixed mine it was running hot too and its because oil leaked out of the oil cooler and turned the coolant into thick mud, well, if it cant circulate through the engine it will run hot! just make sure the coolant in your pressure tank isnt thick and muddy looking, if it is, tear the motor apart!!

Overheating is a WELL known and recognized Cat killer. Be intensely careful. Your engine is in danger.
