    Cruise/Brake Lights Not Working?

So my '99 just rolled 110,000 and things have been good. Last night I was told my brake lights were not working about 10 minutes after I realized my cruise wasn't working either.

Today, I checked the fuses related to the Cruise and/or Brake Lights under the dash, but all were working. I checked to see if just screwing with them may hve fixed it, but I am not that lucky.

All other lights (tail, park, turn, etc) are working, and so is every other electrical component of the car. Can someone help with figuring out the relays that may be involved? Cannot find anything in the manual that labels the relays or fuses under the hood or the relays under the dash.

    Thanks in advance.

sounds like it's the brake light switch, look just above the where the brake pedal pivots. This is a frequent failure...

    Re: Cruise/Brake Lights Not Working?

Thanks. I saw another post a little while ago that mentioned dead brake lights. Makes sense that the cruise needs the same switch, but I understand that there are two switches. Does anyone know which is which, and should I replace both (maybe obvious)? I have gotten acccess to them now, and am ready to get it done....

Well, broke both switches anyhow, so off to the store I go. O'Reilly's had the brake switch (top most black switch) for $23 after tax and couldn't locate the other one (bottom, white) at all. Said they didn't have a part number for it. Tried a GM stealership and got one for $47 after tax. Simple to put in and it solved the problems, but still have to put it all back together now.

    Thanks for the help
