    Mechanic's Opinion

Ok here it goes. The mechanic said that the Tranmission is not going into 1st gear. he said it's starting off in 2nd gear. He brought me my keys like a sad doctor bearing bad news about my child, ( he's not going to make it) he said. LOL!! Anyway this is no laughing matter. I will dearly miss him and all of you, even though i rarely got help from this forum, but i still love yall. The Mechanic said that it would be about $2,000 to give me a rebuilt Tranmission, and he also said that with all 117,000 miles on it, it wouldn't be worth the money. He said i could put it in first gear to drive it then switch it to second then third gear and then drive. Wow!!! How long will it last like that? And would it be worth the money? What do you think? Cmon, someone answer me, i feel like i'm talking to myself here.

Hey that price is too expensive I got a used transmission with 60,000 miles for $1800 from Glen Burnie Transmissions if you are near it.

Wel thanks for the reply. Nobody ever does this. Anyway i have chosen to part with the car. It has now gone on a flat, won't start, and the power steering is out along with the Tranmission problem. This is a millionaire car. Hope you have good times with yours. Thanks

    Re: Mechanic's Opinion

If you can manually shift the thing into every gear than it's time for a new mechanic, not a transmission.
Maybe try one that knows what he's talking about.
