Okay, I have a factory Bose in my '00 Cat. Everything works, CD player, change bands, and even changes stations. But for some reason, the LED display, just stopped displaying. I have checked all fuses, but no luck. Need advice on how to fix and is it work fixing or just pull it and replace. Please help.
I don't have a link, and I haven't taken one out before, but you could give a try by removing the covers on the side trim that covers the radio (two small plastic covers on both sides located between the trunk, traction, fuel door and hazard warning lights switches) most likely there should be some screws behind the cover and one way behind the cigarette lighter holder. Once those are taken out you should be able to pull the side trim out and then find more screws for the radio itself. I hope this information helps you!!!
Leon3, the twilight switch has been for along time, the radio display was working then. Now I have another question, I did notice that on the headlamp switch (which is in manual mode) that when I select park lights, the backlight for it does not light up, but when I switch to headlights, the backlight lights up. Any advice on that? Also retho78, silly question, how do you find the screw to pull the ashtray out? Have not fixed the problem yet. My house is under major remodel and is taking up a lot of time. AAARRRGGGGHHHH!
You open the ashtray and pull the gray tray out by unlocking it, there should be a small lock on the side..... so don't just pull it out. Once that is out you should see the screw.....its way behind, use a flashlight and you'll see it.
