    1997 Cadillac Catera electrical problem

My right part of instrument panel isnt working the only thing that comes on is the security light and leveling light comes on once i start the car.

The weird part is if i turn the key to start mode it doesn't work. But if I barely move it towards the run position all the lights come on oil pressure gauge, battery gauge, coolant light, brake pad light, seat belt light ,washer fluid light, security, leveling.

Does anybody have an explanation for this blown relay and how do i fix this and which relay works for this section?

Just to get this out of the way- check your fuses. That said i would remove the speedo and check all lightbulbs. I had some that were fried when i replaced mince for white LEDs. Also, check the connectors that plug into the speedo. Sometimes they need cleaning or a pin may be bent that could short other pins to the speedo. Just my thoughts because i had one LED that wouldn't light up and did the above and it works now. hope that helps!

most of the lighting for the instrament panel is connected by a acetate film circuit that lies behind the panel. I would suggest, after checking all the thing eastsider said to pull off the panel and check the film. it might have just lost connection. mine is doing the same thing, but I'm just too lazy to pull the panel off again.
