plug/dust cover for hole in flywheel cover?
I was changing my oil and i noticed a rectangular hole in the flywheel cover maybe about 2 1/2 inches X 1 1/2 inches. I tried looking up on alldata and all the parts sites but couldn't find anything. I went to the stealership to ask about it and they couldn't find anything, either. I would assume there would be at least some kind of dust cover there to keep debris out and protect the torque converter and the rear main seal. Anyone know if there is in fact supposed to be one, or how to get ahold of one if it is supposed to be there? It is located dead center toward the lower edge of the flywheel cover right behind the oil pan drain plug. It looks like it may be the access to the torque converter bolts...not sure.
