    Red Line

    Today whilst playing in the rain I hit 7000 RPM's
    in 1st gear doing a burn out. And the engine didn't blow up...



    Anyone else ever get it that high?

    I have had mine up to 6500RPM and the car upshifts to the next gear, actually I only had that in 1st and 2nd, 3rd gear at that RPM will be somewhere well into the 1XXmph, and as you know if you get busted with 25+over its an automatic arrest and a wreckless driving... (so I heard)

    But I think your RPMs needle can be somehwat off... if you get a scan gauge you can see the max RPMs from the ECU rather then from the gauge... the gauges have magnetic coils that can get sort of iffy after a few years. The Speed needle can be off as well...

    Been to that 7000 line, and more... Mine will go to about 6700-6800 once in a while

    I just love my Catera. I wish I could afford custom headers and a new flow system. Twice pipes...
