    Cateras are tough

Last night a lady slammed her Blazer into my rear bumper, tailight assembly etc...

I was surprised when her car looked more messed up than mine. She had her hood&grille pushed back, headlights broken, the whole 9.2 yards.

My damage? Rear bumer scraped and a broken taillight.

They are pretty tough, although they are expensive to fix lol.. insurance coverd this though ... but still. Scraped the side of a car comming accross an intersection... dented in the whole side of the opposite car. Not bad, but it was only at about 15-20 mph. Its all fixed now.

She had a '95 Blazer. Much worse than mine.

What do you think the insurance co will say?
    - new rear taililight assembly
    - new bumper
    - new trunk ? maybe, not sure about this one, but there's a huge error in aligment
    - the fog lamp fell out (I just found this one)

    Re: Cateras are tough

GEICO (the provider) payed for it .... but the crap thing was a 500 dollar deductable.

They went so far as to even replace the foglight that had a lil scratch in it... no new fender, the scrape was worked out. It did get a new bumper, bumper pad , headlight assy. and of course, the foglight/turn light.

I think it depends on how your insurance company is.

They may just align the trunk again if theres no damage to it, or atleast put new hinges on it. New bumper, and tail light and probably fog light. No idea...

    Re: Cateras are tough

Bad luck I guess, few days ago, a guy with a stolen car came out of a parking lot and swierved at me and hit my 1998 baby, without both of us had chance to hit the brake. the A$$h0le ran away.

I guess I was lucky the air bag did not deploy. now the car at collision center, taking it apart to have some numbers. then the insurance company will decide to either fix it or write it off

    Re: Cateras are tough

I got my car back yesterday. they did a good job. according to the paper I signed, it cost a little bit over CAD$9000 , they are nuts, if they offered me the $9000 I'll take it coz I paid only CAD$5000 for the car.

anyways, I won't complain since they changed most of the front end up to the engine!!! also they sent the car to the dealership to fix the low coolent light (which was ON before the accident).
