How Is the Rearview Mirror Removed?

Does anyone know how to remove the rearview mirror on a '98 Catera. I've been trying to hardwire my radar detector but the rearview mirror removal has me stumped.

Also, I have a standard auto-dimming mirror, but can I replace it with a Homelink mirror from the junkyard by just plugging the new one in?

    Thanks in advance guys!

Well i don't know about the other dimmer mirror, but the rearview can be removed by sliding it upwards.
