Climate Control Won't Control on Auto

I just joined the Catera family with the purchase of a '98 model with 91K this past week and have a few questions. I have already taken care of the no speedo/odo and the TCS/ABS lights on by replacing the EBTCM with a $50 junkyard part thanks to the forum last night.

This issue is that the automatic climate control works great if I have it on full blast A/C manually or set on Auto and 60 degrees, but the second I select Auto and 65 or higher it goes down to a setting fan setting so low that it can't maintain the temperature selected in the car. Has anyone else experienced this?

Tonight after work I hope to tackle that problem as well as locating a coolant leak in the back of the engine and determining what is clunking in the front end.

Thanks in advance!

When you are checking for the coolant leak, check for the HCV. Its a common problem.
