Radio Antenna?

Where is the radio antenna in a 2000 Catera? The reception is so bad that there probably is not one.

More like glued. If you didn't notice one on your rear glass either the seller left it at a carwash or the base let go.

Its in the trunk next to the amplifier from what I've read. The one on the rear window is for the OnStar system. I have connected and disconnected the rear window unit with no change in the radio reception, which by the way is the worst reception in any factory radio I know of. When it gets warmer I'm going to investigate the amp area in the trunk and see if I can locate the antenna I read about. May be a loose connection somewhere.

Re: Radio Antenna?

I solved the same problem with mine by disconnecting the Onstar antenna.
The radio works perfectly now even with the defrost on

Re: Radio Antenna?

So if its mounted in the trunk what exactly does it look like?

I looked in there and I can see 2 items looks like 2 different amps... one is silver the other is black. I assume the black box is the antenna then?

I think mine works good just about anywhere, havent noticed any bad reception.
I have been looking at the HD systems and possibly even integrating one with the OEM system.
