'01 Catera- Check Engine Light - good tech in 60016

Hey guys, my check engine light went on! i know there are alot of people here from the chicago area, anyone know of a good place to go in the 60016 area? I dont want to go to cadillac 'cause I know theyd charge a arm and a leg. anyway my internet is out at home so u can email me pls with your replies thatd be great. achapra @ gmail .com

It is error Code: P0176, said my car is running too lean. the light was on the whole time i went to the place to get the error code and the whole time while i was leaving and stopping at the store. after the store the light went off... heh.

They probably erased the code after reading it. Typically the CEL will stay lit for 20 - 30 start/stop cycles unless cleared. Obviously, the CEL will not clear if the trouble persists. My OBD II Code list says:

P0176 Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction

As alarms go, this one is kind of minor. Try running a can of fuel treatment like Techron or PRI to a full tank of gas. There may be water or other contaminates in you tank. Maybe the injectors are dirty. Either way, a can of the stuff can't hurt.
