wheel hub remover/installer tool rental '97 cat
Does anyone know where to get ahold of the J-42094 hub remover/installer tool? I was hoping maybe someone had one that a member could rent kind of like what I have seen with the timing belt tool. The wheel hub lists for about 320 plus installation at a dealer. I found it at autopartsgiant for about 160 and I had a local mechanic tell me he could do the hubs on a catera. As it turns out he could not. Of course the stealership isn't going to install it for me because i didn't buy the hub from them and I can't find anyone else who can do it, is willing to do it or that has the tool. I have been looking around and found a couple on ebay, but it's about 170 bucks for something I will probably never use again....hard to justify.
The kicker is I am quite capable of performing this replacement and in fact tried to make a few different pullers and tools work after looking at alldata, but you really do need this tool in order to separate the hub, bearing and inner flange.
aaahhh, welcome to the world of the Catera...LOL
thanks for any help,
