Ball Joint boots for '97 Cat

    Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any ball joint boots or old used ball joints with a good boot. I was replacing my LCA bushings last night and my punch slipped when i was punching the ball joint stud out and ripped the boot. I don't really want to spend 90 bucks on a ball joint and haven't had any luck in my area with salvage yards, so i was hoping someone who may have recently changed some front end gear may have one laying around.

    thanks,

    scott

New urethane ball joint boots for the GTO should fit. Set of 2 for $8.99.

    They come in black too.

    Elvin,

I took your advice and ordered the GTO set of boots. Just got everything put back together tonight and they look like they will work just fine.

    thanks for the heads-up,

    scott

Glad I could help. Now I can add them to my list of GTO parts for the Catera.

Some answers to 10KTGOLDs PM ( i can't PM yet)

10KTGOLD asked where i got the bushings and how much they were:
    I got the bushings here:http://www.gm-car-parts.com/gmautoparts.htm
about 63 bucks for the front horizontal and about 39 bucks for the rear vertical bushing.

10KTGOLD also asked what vehicle he needed to look for to find the ball joint boots i used.
I am not totally sure, but summit racing says they will work on a 1964-1973 GTO. Check out http://store.summitracing.com/partde...32#Application
it will show you the applications for the black set (9-13128G P/N).

I pretty much just decided to give them a try for 10 bucks or so after Elvin gave me the link and it looks like they will work just fine.
