car pulls when breaking

got my alignment done today which i was hoping would fix this problem but it still exsists. when i break for a light/sign, my car usually pulls right or left. just replaced the tie rod ends/alignment finished today which has fixed the car from pulling while driving, now its just when i brake.

the brakes are the original ones (opel). how do i tell if they are warped/need replacing. been putting off upgrading brakes but if they are bad then i'll go ahead and replace em now.

Re: car pulls when breaking

I'm getting the same problem (just change my tierods with an alignment too. )

Iam assuming that one caliper is gripping more than the other. I just got a set of GTO brakes so hopfully when I put that in it'll cure it.

sorry I'm don't know of a method to check if the calipers are working properly.

if the rotors are warped you will get steering wheel shake when stopping for high speeds

Also check your front lower control arm bushings. If they are ripped they will allow the control to move in and out causing the car to pull to one side or the other.. Very common on our cars to fail.

Idler arm bushing is shot... it allows the idler arm to move up and down and its only supposed to move left to right and when that happens it opens the toe on the front tires and that causes it to pull to either direction... replace it and you should be good... mine had the same issue... fixed it with new idler arm and new outer tie rod ends..

Re: car pulls when breaking

have you tired to see if your discs are parallel..? if not they could be making your car pull to one side... but your safest bet would be to grease your calipers and check to see if you pull to a side again when braking...

Re: car pulls when breaking

I believe my issue was the tie rod end working itself loose.

Re: car pulls when breaking

Control Arm Bushings solved my same problem. Please note my pull was more of a "jerk" when braking.
