nope think my cat has been really good

so far this is how much I've spent

    car $2000

    brakes and rotors $200
    Rear shocks $75
    tie rod ends $150
    alignment $90
    battery $80

so for $2595 I got a great car and already put on 17,000 km in half a year without a break down.. so I'm happy with it

somebody squatted in his cheerios this morning.

But I'll answer his question - yes I thanks the catera is junk.

Allow Me To Elaborate. Mine is a fine car, and after I got $3000 for a rear-ender that I fixed myself with NO parts...well I got a salvage title, 3K to spend, no sore back, and yes I thanks that my catera is junk. Can't tell it either Prolly git another when I wear this one out but its at 160000 miles and still gittin it.

BTW he didn't use caps lock It Takes Extra Effort To Be That Annoying. I'd ban him for snatching up old threads and making worthless new ones but thats me and I'm just mean.

Maybe you just got a lemon?
But what do I know, I've only had mine less than a week. I have a full history report on the car and I think the worse thing that was ever wrong with it is the women ran into a pothole too hard and the replacement parts/labor was like $600. I'll let ya know in a year :-P

Re: Who Thanks The Catera Is Junk

The catera is by far one of the worst pieces of junk ever made. They don't even look cool, the interior is so dated and cheap looking, they have nothing but problems, all caddy dealers cringe at them, all mechanics can't seem to fix them. I had one, had all the same stupid problems that everybody else has with them. It's pathetic, honestly I think all caddies are crap and so is GM. This was the worst car I ever owned and if somebody asked me about getting a used one, I would say run like hell from that deal. Even when my crappy crap-o-lac was under dealer warranty, dealing with the caddy dealer mechanics was a joke. They pulled so much bull that I wanted to go postal on them. They fixed a hinge problem with my door and rather than put inside of the door back together the right way, the idiots used a hot glue gun to put things back together. Of course it came apart like 3 months later and I realized what they did. Also they tried to take me for a ride when I took it in to have the thing diagnosed because it would not start. Yea so that's gonna be like 1600 bucks to replace the plugs, coils etc.. all this junk. So I paid the 70 dollar diag fee and took it someplace else. Funny a real mechanic just changed the fuel filter and it ran just fine for 100 bucks. How about that. Screw the Catera, Screw Crap-o-lac and Screw GM. All GM cars are crap.

And you joined just to inform us? Thank you. After owning my Catera Sport for almost 2 years I never would have known how crappy my car was. Sure, I've had a few problems but crappy? I never would have guessed. I wish I had your kind of insight. And you said it so eloquently. Again, many thanks. Now go away.

Re: Who Thanks The Catera Is Junk

Oh, come on! the Catera is a nice car. I have the 99. I am happy with it and love the way it drives.

Cadillac has me hooked and one day I will have the CTS-V

but yeah GM in general needs to get a clue, although I find Saturns appealing.
