So, I have to admit that in the 3+ years of owning my catera, I've never replaced the fuel filter. Thats bad for obvious reasons I guess.
But on the way to work last week my Catera just died. Long story short - the hose had come off of my fuel pump. So I got to spend a good part of my weekend dropping the fuel tank - I've never done this before on any car, so it was a bit slow going.
So I was just wondering if this is to be expected - that when your fuel filter clogs, the built up pressure blows the hose off the fuel pump?
Or can I blame the Cadillac mechanic that replaced my fuel pump 2 years ago?
