Wet Headlight

The last two times I went to the car wash, I noticed my headlight had water in it. I went to the dealer and they said they had to replace the headlight assembly and it would cost $550. I noticed on Cadillacpartsstore that they had a seal that went around the top of the assembly, I'm not sure if this will fix the problem but I ordered one anyways.

Has anyone else had to replace this or should I just buy a headlight assembly on-line?

Re: Wet Headlight

I would try the seal before spending the $ for a new assembly. Thats just my opinion.

Re: Wet Headlight

If the seal doesn't work, completley dry the inside of you headlight (a hairdryer will work nicely) and seal any area of the headlight that could leak. This will solve your problem for $5. It should all be hidden so people won't be able to see the silicone and will cost much less.
