What a shame. Only a select few of us can appreciate this car; however at almost $12k this car will not sell. It is being sold by a Chicago suburbs dealership. I doubt they'll find a buyer who isn't a Catera enthusiast. I don't know many people looking to spent $12k on a 10 year old car with a storied reliability history, expensive repairs. btw, ee should tell them to swap the wheels for the chrome ones.

Hard to believe, but looks like it's accurate. I would be interested in the history of the car if it was available.

Buying this car would be a way of re-living your life for me. I remember way back when we got our '97 in Nov '96, the very first problem we reported was the faulty alignment that caused the car to pull to the left. I wonder if that repair or any of the dozens of others we had on the car have been done yet. You would have to start all over again with the repairs and corrections. Really surreal.

I remember those Goodyear Eagle tires on the car. For a while, these were the only ones in the 225-16-55 size for the Catera. I wonder if it would be safe to run at 75 mph on 11 year old tires, even with plenty of tread as these have. Sometimes I wonder if I should replace my spare, even though I hardly ever used it.

i wouldn't really be interested in a catera unless it was a 2000-2001 sport with less than 50,000 miles on it...

God, I would hate to think I had to start all over with the problems this car will surely have...lol. Anybody that really knows about Cateras won't get this car anyway. It's still a 98, with 98 problems. But I'm sure someone will see it, not do the research, and think "Wow, a brand new Catera, and it's so beautiful!".....bless them...lol

It didn't sell. The highest offer was $8,750. While that's a lot less then it would have been new, I wouldn't have paid more than 5k for it.
