Button next to fan control

Anyone know what that use space that is next to the fan control? I've seen numerous ones on ebay and still havent seen one that has that space occupied. Is it the Onstar?

Rear sunshade is in between the passanger side front and rear window controls

are you talking about the little vertical bar grill to the left of the ac fan speed control?
i thought that was a interior temperature sensor for the automatic ac

Not on the 00-01, window switches are in the door. my sun shade button is under the TCS and above the Trunk button.

ah ok well its definitely not a switch on any model. again i though temperature sensor

i believe it is the temp sensor the onstar mic and buttons and such are mounted on the roof next to the rear view mirror
