Talking New Tires Continental ContiExtremes... 245s

Well it was time to upgrade the tires on my car. The wheels that I have are from ASTRA SRi. 18x7.5, and OFFSET is 37mm.

OEM Tires were Dunlop Sport SP01 225/40-18 (OLD TIRES)

NEW Tires are Continental ContiExtremeContact. 245/40-18 (NEW TIRES)

Total cost was just under 700$ USD
First impressions are that they are much more quiet then the Dunlops and also more grippy.

And Pictures from the Installation...

And yes even tire rack can scratch wheels, they scratched mine, and denied it. Luckily it was small enough scratch that can be fixed by buffing.

And here are the comparison pictures between the two tires. Old ones on the left, New ones are on the right.

And here is how they look on the car...

Where is that shop at?
In one those pictures
Did you even look at the BF Goodrich T/A's rubber?
Did they say anything about those spacers you installed? Is it safe to assume adding spacers doesn't mess anything up with the suspension?

Those look real sharp but I would think you would be more prone to hydroplaining. For me it wouldn't be a good idea. You're talking to a person who drives 90 in a rainstorm. I'm happy with my 235s. I've never been jerked off the road by a puddle.

To answer your question, I did look around for a good performance tire and a low budget, and this tire came on top. Also I have used it before on my other car and I was extremely happy with it. I was affraid that I might be dissapointed by some of the other brands out there and when it comes down to that kind of cash... you wanna be certain with your purchase.
The T/As just came out with that new all season tire but it has barely any reviews....

The Continental performs great in snow as well as in rain and its very sticky in dry.
As for the BFs well they were out of my price range, otherwise I am sure they are probably just as good if not better... but at 200$/pop

Also the shop is in South Bend Indiana...

Well the 245 is not really that much larger then the 235... its a matter of 9.8" vs 9.5" Section width...

Today I got a chance to try them in rain and, they are way better then the Pirelli P6000s or even the Kumho Ecstas... that I have on my other wheels...
Best bang for the buck in that price range... I can wait till the new generation of that tire comes out...
These were $131/pc and with installation and tax it came out to just under 700...

As for the spacers, i just warned them not to overtorque the lug nuts and that was it...
As for the ride and safety, so far I have put over 10K miles on them and so far no issues... no vibrations, just good looks and fun.
I have also had the car up to the 3 digit speeds and its as smooth as ice...

I was looking at those but they were at 118@/pop and they were only summer tires... and I decided to go with something that I have used before and trusted...

So far I have put on about 200mi and to be honest they are just awesome... quiet, and very gripy and wet traction is top notch.
