intermittent Cruise Control Problem

Anyone have any ideas what to look for? My cruise control will only engage when it wants to. It just started doing this about 3 days ago. Everything else works fine. I don't think it's the switch on the column because one night it wouldn't engage then all a sudden the cruise light lit within a blink of an eye, then it worked fine the rest of the drive. Any tips will be much helpful. I'm going on a road trip this summer and need to get this fixed.

Still doing it! I haven't looked at it yet but I priced the module just in case it may be the problem its in the ball park of over $300 at gmdirect!

If you are talking about the control arm itself they have it at rockauto dot com for $160.79... just do a search for AIRTEX Part # 1S1369 . My cruise control isn't working now either and I'm diagnosing as well. I noticed my break lights seem to be intermittently working, I'm hoping it's just the brake switch as that part is only $22. Good luck with yours.

Found the fix.... finally! It's the cruise control cancel switch on the brake pedal. Mine was sticking and just cleaned it up a bit. Works great every time. Hope this helps anyone having this issue.
