coolant problem?

Hey all,

Been driving my caddy for quite a while now, just over 100,000 miles now without major major issues. Well now I think I might have one. Basically the coolant is leaking majorily from underneath. Threw it up on a lift and had a look and it seems to be leaking from some plastic piece that located in the middle. Any idea what this piece is and where I can get a replacement? I'm hoping to avoid the dealer since they have screwed me multiple times in the past. I should be throwing it back up on the lift again tonight and will try and have pics. Thanks!

Re: coolant problem?

Had the same problems on my 97 catera and it was the heater bypass valve, cost me about 120 from the cadillac dealership, and got it installed for 50 buckaroos. Good luck brother.

Re: coolant problem?

I put in new radiator. Got it for about $160 and took me a couple hours to put it it. The last heater valve I got was about a month ago, on eBay in UK. Cost me $40.04 including shipping + it's a 20 minute job to do it yourself. Shipping took about a week, like tie rod kits last time... Just get new hose clamps.
