Control arm bushing question

On our lower control arms, we have 2 bushings and the ball joint. Are the 2 bushings the same and 1 is just sideways?

Re: Control arm bushing question

No. They are both very different. See numbers 2 & 3.

Re: Control arm bushing question

I have seen that schematic. If you look what number 2 means.. it says lower control arm. Like i said it looks like the same bushing, only sideways. There was no part number/name for 2. I have two number 3's. I'm getting ready to order for the other side,i went to gmpartsdirect and i ran across that schematic. I was like hmmm is the front different? That brings me here.

gmpartsdirect doesn't show a different listing. I dont like the setup on the site for searching. Does anyone know for sure if they are different or not?

Re: Control arm bushing question

This isn't the first time we've delt with front bushings. No diagrams here but this listing shows 2 distinct part numbers. The bushings are different.

http://www.rockauto.com

SPICER Part # 5651329 {CHASSIS CONTROL ARM BUSHING}
Front Suspension; Lower Rear $22.89

SPICER Part # 5651330 {CHASSIS CONTROL ARM BUSHING}
Front Suspension; Lower Front $44.99

Re: Control arm bushing question

sorry to pull this thread up again, but I've been told a couple months ago that I need "lower control arm bushings- both sides"

does these 2 parts come with both sides? (meaning 2 to each set?)

SPICER Part # 5651329 {CHASSIS CONTROL ARM BUSHING}
Front Suspension; Lower Rear $22.89

SPICER Part # 5651330 {CHASSIS CONTROL ARM BUSHING}
Front Suspension; Lower Front $44.99

also does this sound like symptoms of worn control arm bushings?

-I hear a (and kinda feel) a clunking towars the front of the car under my feet.
- this happens when the suspension is at full lenght or at full compression.
- also this happens more often during cold mornigs, as it warms up it pretty much goes away (pretty much cause I've never really test it so I'm not 100% positive)... but now that it's friggin cold out it never warms up enough so I hear it all the time.
- most noticable when I go through intersections that has a gradual hump in it at about 50km/hr or so.

I'm gonna change my bushings any ways, but I was wondering if there was anything else I should look into.
(I also have warn outter tie rods that I'll be replacing at the same time.)

sorry, when it comes to suspension I know next to nothing.
