I'm back!!! Car died again!!!!!!!

Well, bought suburban and gave 97 catera to daughter!! Because of gas prices, drove caddy to Orlando. (just spent another 2180.00 fixing engine, some pully on engine, sensors, fuel injectors, etc....... We got just stranded on I-4 ! car is doing same things!!! (rough idle, stalling, won't restart) any suggestions?? Have taken it to local caddy dealership in Jacksonville several times. Have had everything fixed that they say is wrong.

Check your IAC, check all the intake systems, are the sparkplugs and everything ignition wise in good shape? Fuel, Air, Ignition.

This sounds simmular (now) to what speedy had problems with. His is the same year too.

Other than that, its time to put the old girl down.

If it needs major things like a computer than its not even worth it. These cars are way too $ and those years fall apart.

I couldn't agree with you more. My 99 is still sitting in my driveway with a full tank of gas and will not start. Im waiting to see if I can get it started and run long enough to get it to my friend's shop on the east side of town.

Had IAC replaced about a month ago. Caddy dealer now says I need spark plug wires, that # 5 is miss firing- HOWEVER>>>> they said that in order to reach #5 that they will need to tilt engine. total estimate is $884.00 for WIRES?????????
This makes no sense to me!

My wife may use that 357mag bullet with "Catera" written on it if I dont get it running by the weekend.
