well heres what i got so far, im at work and most of my pics are at home. but you can see the custom black grill and how i replaced the ugly orange turn signal bulb ones with clear ones.
sorry for posting 4 in a row, but i just stumbled upon this pic too.
it was a couple weeks after i bought the car.
it rained a lil so i went to the local park which has a blacktop parking lot.
my tires were mismatched so i needed to get new ones.
heres the result.
Yep tahts some power right there I don't care what they say about our heavy as slow cars... most of the time they see the our back ends in the distance and then they begin with the apologies...
wow i made it to the famous elvin portfolio. i'm honored. its been about six months since i bought the grill, but i got it on ebay uk. just do a search in ebay uk for omega grill and make sure you order the post facelift, which is what they call the 2000-01 catera. i believe the vendor i bought it from was europro. they were great, i believe with shipping from germany it was $130.00 the crest i bought separate on ebay us for about $10.00. i love the look, gets rid of the lumina, corsica look.
thanks, for noticing, robert
elvin your bent valve will be in the mail this week. haha
The first car is a prefacelift model Omega with what looks like a Steinmetz grille. The bumper is a Irmscher but it's for the facelift model. The owner must have trimmed the bottom of the grille to make it fit.
The second car has the normal Omega HID headlights but the hood has been extended over the lenses. I've seen some prelift models with the hood extended like this one with some covering the grille. Below are other headlight treatments.
This is where I'm getting mine from. Cheaper than any of the Steinmetz or Irmscher stuff. I hope it's not crap. They emailed me yesterday that my grille shipped on the 19th via something called Post Priorytet. Sounds like Priority Mail. I'll tell you more when I get it. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UNIQUE-TUNING...hZ013QQcategoryZ43118QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
yeah.. that's one of the many things on my list I want to do. but tinting the front windows are illegal here in calgary so I'll prolly just be doing that back.. and very lightly in the front.
and I just got a quote for $1500 to repaint and mod my hood to give it that mean look... $1500 seems steep... you guys know how much I should be spending on something like that?
HID fog lights (6000k), tinted licence plate cover, and I painted the front grill black.
Steinmetz rims, 18x8.5 with continental 235/40ZR18 front and 18x10 with 265/35ZR18 rear
Stock, white led's, and on the bottom orange bulbs from my old Trans AM
Next year: Eibach lowering springs, Bilstein/Steinmets shocks, omega v8 12” rear brakes, corvette front calipers and omega v8 13” rotors. Maybe some wider stickier tires. Maybe a speedway swaybar.
Thanks, -No issues with the fog lights, had them for almost a year now. Yes there is an allen adjustment screw and the fog lights can be adjusted up and down. This is on 00-01 I’m not sure about 97-99 this picture is just fog lights you can see that there is a cut off and you wont be blinding all oncoming traffic. In the housing there is a metal baffle in front of the bulb, that needs to stay just bend it forward to clear the larger HID bulb.
-Speedway is the name of the company, it's a universal racing swaybar available in many different thicknesses and lengths. I have not yet decided what thickness I want to go with nor have I done any measuring to ensure it'll fit. Taking a quick look, it looks like I’ll be able to make it work in the front. http://www.1speedway.com/Swaybars.htm
The tint on the covers isn't very dark I’ve been pulled over numerous times and they never said anything about it. If they did I’d say it's a dirty clear cover.
