I assume you got those from a European Monaro or something of that sort...? Nice job thou, much better then those old little brakes... Braking is probably improved too... BTW how much Chamber are you running on that thing... it looks way too much... mine is at 2.25deg and they stick out like crazy...
Very nice Stainless Brake lines... and also you painted the control arms... and struts I assume? very cool... |

"They won't bolt on directly. While the spacing on the bolts is close, the C5 bolts are 14mm, while the f-body bolts are only 12mm. It *MIGHT* be possible to drill the holes out, but that is NOT recommended. Also, the C5 pistons are SMALLER than f-body pistons. F-body caliper pistons are 44 mm, where as the C5 piston size is only 40.5mmm. Because the C5 rotor is 13" (the f-body rotors are 12") the caliper has more leverage and thus doesn't need pistons are large.
What you can do is convert to C5 front brakes (C5 calipers, rotors, pad bracket, and pads). You need a bracket to bolt the C5 pad bracket onto to. I recommend these: http://www.hotpart.com/index.php?p=show&id=177
They are probably the best brackets on the market: strong and light. With this setup, you will need to run 17" wheels."

OK, so to make sure: the C5 front pads will fit the stock rotors and GTO calipers, right? Or do I buy GTO pads? Since I am planning a brake job sometime soon...
Thanks |

C5 pads will work with 04 GTO calipers i have pads for a 2004 zo6 in my 04 gto stoping is noticeably better than with gto pads and if the catera rotor is the same as gto minus the bolt pattern your in great shape to go which i think it is =) |

The only issue I have heard about is that the C5 pads dont have a clip on the outside pad and they can rattle sometimes... when on the highway and when you are not braking... etc.... so other then that they should and will work and will improve braking even more... but probably not enough to notice...
This might help... http://www.dba.com.au/2006/techdocs/T025.asp |

i finally got my self a set of GTO calipers.
now i need to find the a set for slotted rotors and brake pads.
I just want to get some advice from you guys.
first rotors, you guys know where I can get a good set of slittoed and drill ones?
and brake pads. how are organic ones? are they any good?
I was looking at R1 concepts and a set of rotors come to $88 and organic pads for $50
but shipping to canada is $55, so that brings the total to about $200. how does that sound? anyone order their products before?
Thanks for reading. |

I ordered my 4 rotors and pads from eBay for about $260 shipped from OCAutosports, I think. I just ordered 4 new rotors for my other Cat for $162 shipped from Canada, company GForceBrakes. I used Best Offer at $100, but they declined, then tried $110 and they took it. Shipping + insurance =$52, total $162. And they have the hub area painted black, which I intended to do anyway. Check them out http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Magnu...8842QQtcZphoto I will order front and rear pads separately after I get the GTO calipers Totally badass

These are the discs I have on my Cat. Dimples and slots provide escape for gasses and water. The lack of through and through drilling maintains the structural integrity of the disc to reduce the chance of fracturing. Black zinc coated to prevent rust on the unswept areas plus to accent the dimples and slots. They're completely coated when you receive them and it takes a few stops to wear it off the swept area. Makes for some very long scary stops until it's gone. Haven't done the rears yet. They're on the list. click
