Re: Spark Plugs

Try to clean your o2 sensors with electric cleaner (autozone) or throttle body cleaner with a tooth brush. I did and the code went away showing a bad o2 sensor if you must get a o2 sensor www.summitracing has a direct fit NGK sensor for 69.99 much cheaper than anywhere else. Spark Plugs i have heard the splitfire triple platinum or E3 spark plus are good they can be found at summitracing.com too best of luck -Pete

Re: Spark Plugs

I personally would steer clear of three and four electrode tip spark plugs in these types of engines. They are high compression engines. The last thing you want in a situation like this is more surface area blocking the spark from the air that needs to be ignited. Most likely it will retard the timing in the assumption that you are running on low octane fuel. I am not knocking these types of spark plugs they do serve a purpose but not with a high compression engine in my opinion. I would say their claims would be true only with different type applications. I think you are better off with cheap plugs. Look for ones that are single electrode tips. Platinum is good, double platinum is better, and irradium is the best in terms of how long they last. These engines do have aluminum heads which can be problematic when it comes to removing plugs. If you where to go with something like irradium it might be in your best interest to break the plugs off every year or so and retorque them. A different alternative would be to buy cheaper plugs and simply do it more often. Sounds like over kill but anyone who has broken a spark plug off in a DOHC will tell you it sucks BAD.
