Re: removal of my car stereo

If you do not mind waiting a day I will have some pictures. I believe Bose just put CD players in these cars but I could be mistaken about this. If it is a bose you will have to run all new wiring to the speakers and remove the old wiring and equipment. Regardless of Bose or not I would suggest that you run the 12v off of the battery. You will need a fuse within 12"-18" of the battery to be safe. I actually have ran mine to the back of the car because I have an amp and a custom fuse box back there. If it is not a bose I have the wiring diagram. I actually tried to buy one of the plug in adaptors so that I would not have to cut the wiring and it did not work. I am sure someone will give an answer to the Bose or not question so that you will know ahead of time as I am not 100% sure.

Re: removal of my car stereo

An inexpensive investment (do it right the first time):

I have dealt with them on other issues with my BOSE... good guys.

It's worth the 4.99$, they use to give the instructions out for free but 'others' started abusing their service... (the reason for the cost are explained on the site).

Why not just use an IPod and get the cable that plays it through the
FM radio? Then you cantake your music library with you.

Exclamation Re: removal of my car stereo

i have a 2001 catera and i am having troubles with putting in an aftermarket radio. I have the BOSE system and when i hooked everything up (correctly) my deck didn't turn on. I wanted to know as i was told that it would be $1,300 to have all MY stereo put in and the needed relocation of factory BOSE. Is it possiable to not have to relocate the factory and/or is there something i am missing within the wiring. I am going to replace all of the stereo equipment in my car with aftermarket and my own wiring to the speakers from the deck harness.
Please help as i don't feel that the install would cost that much and Best Buy isn't going to take $900 from me.
