Re: removal of my car stereo

Wire a new power wire off from the harness?!?!? I have wired 5 of my prior cars and this is the first one that had the BOSE system, which i am starting to hate right about now, but love that i have more speakers to add. Now what i was going to do was remove all BOSE and On-star stuff and run my aftermarket deck to amps to power all my speakers/subs. I just need to get the radio to turn on. Could it be due to the fatory radio is run via a serial info? Can I bypass?

Re: removal of my car stereo

I figured it out. I had to run the constant(yellow wire) off of the cig lighter and the power(red wire) off the radio fuse #8 had to put a 20amp instead of the 15amp that was in there. Now today i started wiring and let me tell you it is the bigest pain in the ass. I figured it would take a few hours MOST. . . Nope i just wired the front door and ran amp cables its about 4 right now and i have another 3 doors. Now i am driving down the road with wires and stuff hanging off the drivers door. If anyone can tell me if and how they wired the speaker cable through the door as i can't fit it in the boot and pulling it off, made it accomplish nothing. DAMN BOSE. . . why couldn't it be a little louder and play ALL my cd's, i-pod and sat radio.
