    newb with 98 Cat

Just got my caddy about a week ago. always wanted a catera, but the timing belt problems kept me away. then i found this 98 catera with a fully rebuilt engine, new trans with all the paperwork to prove it. i jumped on it.
been in love with it since.

well, here are a couple pics.

when i first got it home.

    today after painting my grille.

only things i don't like are having to use an mp3 player. my headunit won't read CDs. i had XM, but gave it to my GF so i can use my mp3 player.

let me know what ya think

I thought you would rather like using an mp3 player than CDs

    Sweet

Would be interested to know how many miles and how much it set you back. Also, did you get any kind of warranty from the seller?

my mp3 player is small and i can't read the song titles or use the buttons.
i might get an ipod and hook it up.

the car hs 106k miles. tranny replaced at 60k miles and new VC gaskets, TB tensioner, TB and some misc engine parts.
i paid $3800 for it from a private seller. no warranty.

I'm jealous. I was looking for a black on black Sport when I was shopping for a Cat but had to settle for platinum. The black grille and wheels really set it off. The tint too. Is it legal? Regardless, it looks sharp. To continue the theme, you might consider those blacked out headlights. Not tinted lenses (I don't think that's safe), but the interior of the housing is black. It would finish the look.

the tint isn't legal. if its not 50% its illegal.

i like the black projectors, but they look more import-ish to me. if i were to upgrade the headlights id get the chrome projectors. that way the fogs don't look out of place.
