My transmission goes into sport mode, without me pushing the button on the
shift lever. When it does this, the acceleration on the car decreases, like the car is in low gear or something. When I put the car in park right after this, the trans goes back to normal mode. The light with the "S" symbol flashes when this occurs. Anyone expierence this, and what seems to be the problem? I sure as hell hope the trans isn't going out. Thx for the replies.

Re: Sport Mode
I had the same problem with my 00 Sport. Turned out is was a loose connection on the tranny. It was the drivers side forward connection, just above the pan. I cleaned the contacts and re-installed problem went away.
Hope yours is simple.
