    black smoke

    Hello
    I got problem with my egr-valvue, it gets smoked badly so I get errormessage and the car gets into emergency-mode.
    Why does it produse so havy smoke? Sombody got the same problem?
    I have changed the egr 2 times.

    It would be helpful to know how many kilometres/miles your car has on the clock, also, TID or TTID?

    If you have the 1.9 Tid and dependent on your mileage, your inlet manifold might be completely coked up, the swirl bar could be inoperative - the do fail and it will cause problems. Furthermore, the swirl valve actuator motor could be faulty. Cleaning the EGR valve should be standard maintenance on these cars at least once every 12 months. The manifold boost sensor can also become badly sooted and is easily removed and can be carefully cleaned with carb cleaner.
