    Tow Bar

    Hi all,

I want to get a tow bar fitted to my BLS saloon. Has anyone had one fitted to theirs? If so, how much? Where?
A genuine Cadillac supplied tow bar with wiring harness costs over 600 quid and then there is fitting on top!

I have contacted a Saab dealer and explained that the BLS is the same chassis and running gear as the 9-3 and they have quoted 475 for the tow bar and wiring, fitting is extra. They did tell me though, that the Saab 9-3 tow wiring harness is already in place and just needs to be connected.

I intend asking for quotes from the numerous tow bar fitters out there but any help would be appreciated.

    Re: Tow Bar

The quotes are coming in thick and fast, anything from 392 to almost 500 GBP fitted. The quotes are based on a mixture of single/twin/13 pin electrics. Not sure which is really the best to go for. I do read though, that 13 pin is the way ahead for future proofing as the rest of the EU use it and it looks like the UK will be required to take it on as standard. I understand all caravans made from 2008 now use 13 pin electrics.

Yes, I can buy the tow bar and electrics for under 200 quid, but I know I couldn't fit the stuff myself. At this rate, I probably won't bother, unless of course someone does come up with a good deal and a good job can be done.
