    BLS 1.9D (180bhp) elegance wagon

Hi - Embarrassing question!! I've never had a car before that had this type of replacement filter that inserts into a housing. Question is where is the oil filter on a 1.9D (180) Cadillac BLS and how is it accessed. I cannot immediately see the oil filter when I lift the car bonnet. Beneath the engine are splash guards. Is the filter underneath and do I have to remove the splash guards to see it and access it? Or am I missing spotting it under the bonnet??? Any help in pin-pointing the oil filter welcome. Thanks.

Hi,, my understanding is it's behind the splash guards, that has to be removed to get to it.
