98 STS No sound from radio

I have a 98 STS, just got out of winter storage and I get no sound from the radio speakers. The radio looks like it functions ok but no sound at all. I looked in the owners manual and it mentioned a mute button but I can't find it. I also checked for a blown fuse, they all looked ok. Anybody got any ideas?

I removed the positive battery cable for 10 minutes and sure enough that fixed the problem. Very strange problem, I wonder what happened?
    Thanks for the help.

your cars amp grounded or was overpower and went into "protect" mode to insure it would not be damaged pulling the batt cable for about 10 mins allows it time to dain of all power reset itself and restart.

Re: 98 STS No sound from radio

I have a similar sounding problem with my 2002 STS (Bose and Nav). Radio appears to operate fine but no sound at all.

I've pulled the fuse for the amplifier, it looked good, and disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes to see if it would work again... no luck so far. Is there anything else I could try? The silence is maddening and I'd like to take a long trip soon with the car.

    Thanks.
