I've removed the electronic control from the dash and identifed two bad bulbs up top - I'll be stopping by the dealer in the AM. The backlight for my radio must also have some bulbs out also as I can no longer see the station preset numbers 1 thru 4 at night. It appears there's one light just inside the tape cassette door on the right side (it's working and sheds light on preset number 5). Must be another one or two on the left or middle that is burned out. Is it possible to replace these bulbs? I don't want to tear the radio apart only to find out I have no access to the bulb but I would like to fix it while I have the dash apart.

Well im sorry to tell you that i have only done that once and it was a ford headunit for a friend. There is only one way to find out and that is to go to town. It shouldn't be that bad. Just remember where everything went. Good luck if you choose to do it.

Well I'm going to give the radio backlights a shot. Cadillac dealer (Lindsay Cadillac in VA) wanted $10.40 for each of the cluster bulbs and then would not guarantee they were the correct part and I would not be able to return them. I asked why they coudln't guarrantee it as I brought the Cadillac service manual with me to show him the part #. He said " We don't use the service manual to order parts and it's not listed in my book". Well I said no thanks and found the part (PC194) at this site for 0.89 each:

Here's another site that gave a pretty good explanation of the bulbs:

I"ll let you know how the radio job turns out.
