    Angry 03 STS nav/radio problems

I recently bought a 2003 STS with a factory installed 7" touch screen radio navigation (similar to pic in post 16 of this thread http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...l#post11342657).
It won't accept the map DVD. It will read CDs, CDRs, single layer DVDs and dual layer DVDs. The map DVD is clean and I can read it in my PC's cdrom drive.
While trying to find out what the problem is using the 1971 code I found in another thread, something must have gone wrong. Now the radio seems stuck between normal operation and diagnostics.
I still get the blue screen with the Cadillac crest. It will switch on, but it won't play anymore. I can't select any preset stations, but it does respond to the screen (station button turns light blue when pressed, but still no sound).
I can still go back into the diagnostics menu, but so far that hasn't helped either. Switching the ignition off doesn't help either.
Does anybody know how to reset the unit so it goes back to normal operation?

    Tommy

Nvm, leaving the key out of the ignition for an hour did the trick.
I still have the original problem though, DTC B2468 and no navigation.

I have the very SAME problem with my NAV...it won't read the NAV DVD...keeps telling me to 'load map dvd.' After fooling with the nav diagnostics I had the same MUTE problem, but disconnecting the battery for a second seemed to fix the problem.

However, I still can't get my nav to work with my dvd...it also won't play dvd movies. Wtf. Is there a special trick to get this to work?

Did the OP have any luck?

    Thx
Ps I also have a 2003 seville sts

    In one word: No.

Straight from the GM Service Information DVD:
"The navigation radio is unable to write to memory and the test detect a computation error."

Basically the only cure is to replace the radio.
