Trying ti hook up a cd changer
I have a 97 SLS non bose,I found the cd changer harness in the trunk. I bought a working 01 6 disk changer out of a Deville, hooked it up it powered up cycled through the disk but doesnt show up on the head unit when i hit the source button. What am I doin wrong,Ive read the 6 disk would work from a 01?

Re: Trying ti hook up a cd changer
Was it for sure a '01 not a '02?
The reason I am asking is because after '02 they switched the data line from E&D to data line.
The CD changer you need is the 12 disk unit used from '96 up to '02 in Eldorado, up to '97 in Seville and '99 in Deville.
The '98-'02 Seville and '00-'02 Deville used the 6 disk version (same HU).

That would explain why its powering up but not reading on the HU. The person I got it from said it was a 01,but who knows. Thx for the info!
