    99 deville protect/sleep mode

I have a 99 deville with an aftermarket stereo. First I would like to know how to find out if there was a bose or non bose system? Second I do not have the stock radio. Is there any way around not using the stock radio and stopping the annoying sleep mode? I already know special harnesses will not work including the gmrc 03. Any help thanks its driving me crazy. My next fear is the door locks won't work with the key being as though my drivers side stopped working a week ago.

Did you ever find a way to make this work without putting a stock radio back into the car? I'm having the same problem! Thanks.

This thread has been dead for over 2 years and the OP has not logged in since. There are MANY other, more recent discussions on the head nit replacement/bypass problems in these cars scattered throughout this forum as well as in Seville and Deville.
