    2002 dts cd changer in a 2000 dts

    I purchased a cd changer off of ebay it cameout of a 2002 dts I put it in a 2000 dts the cd changer came on and started loading the disc but my radio did not reconize the cd changer. Due I need to take it to a dealer or was the data buss changed in 2002.

    If the 2002 DTS was equipped with NAV unit then yeah your hunch is right on, the CD changers for the NAV systems are using the car's data line to communicate with the Denso NAV unit, while all the other are using the dedicated E&D data. They are not compatible (not even close).
    You can purchase the Denso NAV unit and with little modifications (requires repining little bit the existing HU connector - but better make an adapter harness) you can get the CD changer working with the NAV HU.
    The P# of the CD changers used with the NAV units is 25740088
