2001 Catera Stereo Auxillary Jack?

So I'm trying to hook up my Ipod to my 2001 Cadillac Catera and I notice that the auxillary jack is set up behind a stupid plastic grate! Anyone have tips on how to take the plastic pieces out without breaking it and making it look shitty? Heres a pic of where it is highlighted in yellow

I am not very well familiar with the Catera options but something tells me that’s NOT an AUX input jack but a microphone. I have the base HU from a 98 Catera and has no AUX (is pretty much the same idea as ‘96-’97 base Seville/Eldorado). I see yours is BOSE, not sure if BOSE had the AUX input or not…Hopefully a member owning Catera will chime in, my advice don’t rush to pry the plastic piece.

Hmmm you're probably right...as the Catera does have the option to have Onstar. Guess Ill have to return the jack I got and find a Ipod adapter that hooks up to the cassette player. If only it said what it was in the manual...it shows a picture of it but no description haha
