Tapping into rear speakers for subs?

Guys, I am looking to install the system that I had in my 96 sts (2 12" JBL and a sony amp, standard stuff) into my new 99 sts. In the 96, i had the signal inputs (rca connectors) tapped into the rear speakers as there are no rca outputs on the back of the stock HU. Both cars have BOSE stereo. Can I hook the system up the same way as I had it? The 99 ony has 1 speaker in the back as far a I know. How do you guys have your subs hooked up to the stock headunit?

Hook up both channels going into your Line Output Convertor to the sub in the rear deck. The signal will be in mono but that's fine for subs.
