    Radio interface that works?

    Hey guys,

I am working on a 99 SLS and having problems like many others with the GMOS-06. My question is does this not work for anyone or am I just that lucky? Is there a interface that does work with the bose? I have a D3 that is going to waste because of all the shutting off and wierd volume issues.

    Thanks!

    Frank

    Re: Radio interface that works?

Well i too installed an aftermarket nav (avic D3) with the gmos06 and have the same problems plus other ones (see link)

    http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...c-d3-02-a.html (Problems w/GMOS06 & Avic D3 in 02 dev w/bose & onstar.)

i asked for help on the avic411.com forum and they say that METRA axxess had a bad supply of gmos 06 interfaces that had to be returned.

im sure thats what it is bc mine has all those problems too. And i installed it myself so i know everything is done right, plus cadillacsts2003 helped me out.

i want to return the axxess gmos06 and get my money back and try a pac or peripheral, etc....bc it sucks having the radio turn off on you in the middle of everything including a nav guidance momment. and there is no patterna or way to figure out the next time itll do it. i also have hollowed distant sound coming from the the rear speakers...........too many problems do just see my link and youll see ALL my probelms and struggles.

Thanks for the input. I am going to swap out my GMOS-06 on weds. I'm hoping that fixes the issue but I doubt it. I really was hoping someone would chime in saying they were using this or another unit without any problems. I just want to know what works so I can go buy it. The shops aren't real fond of returning this stuff.

    Good luck to you

I know lots of folks swear by the clean sweep, but it costs.

For the high end consumer, with a discerning ear JL Audio makes the Clean Sweep. When we install $4K+ systems that need Aux-In, its what we always use/ only use, nothing else comes close, several in Caddys.

    Re: Radio interface that works?

I just got a peek at the clean sweep setup today...No thanks...I'll throw a boombox in the back seat before I spend that much money. I just wanted some gadgets in the dash to help with my new car itch. What a nightmare this is turning into...lol

Is anyone using the pac bose setup or the gmos-06 and actually having no problems?

Mine the VSS wire shows crazy readings, the power shuts off, the amp goes dead, and the bell comes on and stays on for no reason at all. I am working to get it replaced and hope it helps but I'm looking for a different fix as well.

    Thanks for any input

    Frank

    Re: Radio interface that works?

I swapped out my GMOS-06 last night and got it all crammed back in the dash. So far it seems to work much better. I wired it all thru the interface and the radio hasn't reset yet. This was actually an older interface. It doesnt have the wires for VSS or Backup. The VSS I already had rerouted, the backup wire I need to figure out. I will update after more drive time.

    Re: Radio interface that works?

I'm still using a GMOS-06... I replaced the first one. This one works better but is missing the additional wires from the newer style(reverse and vss wires). I have contacted the seller and they are ordering me another one.

This one works without the stereo shutting off, the volume doesn't go up and down....the speakers cut out front to back though. I thought maybe it was a wire but must be the interface. I will update when I get the next one.

I use peripheral interfaces because metra is a run around and scosche doesnt make much for cadillacs. Peripheral is the best. I use the Peripheral GMAH32. it works great.
