    CD Player

I just bought a 97 STS and the trunk mounted CD player does not work. It goes through the normal "Initialization" process, and recognizes the CD in the right slot, but shows it at track "0", and never starts playing.

    Any Ideas???

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Re: CD Player

if you only tried one cd (properly positioned and inserted) then it might not play that cd for some reason. i record all audio cd's at 4x for the car because some car cd players (as well as walkmen and regular home cd players) dont play audio cd's recored at above 4x anyways recording over 18x (on cheaper drives) decreases quality and since your cd-r dirve has almost no error protection for audio cd's during recording, writing audio cd's at high speeds might produce unwated results and loss in qulity.try another cd (original) then try it in another slot and if that still doesn't work then you have a problem

    Re: CD Player

I had no idea that the CDs go in upside down. Once I flipped them over, all works fine.
