    1998 Olds Aurora

I don't know if any of you know about the Olds Aurora's sound system but I could use some advice. I would like to keep the stock cd player, because I like the way it looks in the car, second I don't want to spend a whole lotta money. I just want an increase in bass reproduction, smooth mids, and non-harsh highs. Is it possible for me to just add new speakers to my car? I'm not sure if theres any external amps that would deter me from using different speakers. Anyway, any information would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Kevin

Have you checked into one of those Bazooka bass tubes? Looks like a low-cost, non invasive way to accomplish what you want.

Would prefer to put my money into nice speakers instead of a cheap bass tube. I've heard bazooka's before and they are nothing really to brag about, not enougn *low* bass.

Is it Bose? the solution can be searched in "escalade" section. Any Bose can be upgraded bass wise. Search "Bose upgrade" the answer is here. I posted some adaptor info on "infotainment" that might be helpful also. Good luck.

How do I determine if my car is eqipped with the Bose Sound system?

I'm considering just adding an external 4 channel amp and a nice set of 6.5" component speakers in the front and a matching pair of 6x9's in the rear deck and then calling it quits. I figure with high quality speakers I should have just the right amount of bass I crave along with the smooth mids I want and the non-harsh highs I desire. Anyone object to this?

    thanks

    -Kevin
