The ATS keeps the overall look of the CTS yet is a bit toned down and is a look I prefere. As far as the chrome goes I guess it depends on what color ATS you have. Mine is Black Raven and the chrome accents look great with that color and I don't need anymore black. When I first saw the ATS in person I thought it might be a bit understated but in the premium trim with the premium wheels and lights the car looks awesome all shined up and really stands out in a crowd of parked cars.
I had the cts sedan and coupe and just leased the ats. The interior of the ats is so much nicer than the cts. Between the cue system, hidden compartment and gauges. It's night and day. In both my cts's I never had a compartment that would fit my sunglasses. The ats not only looks good but has deep pockets in doors and the hidden compartment in dash is some straight James Bond $hit. I also think the exterior has much cleaner lines and better appearance. Performance wise I feel that my 2.0 turbo feels faster than my 3.6 coupe with much better mpg

I was looking at the 2013 Cadillac Accessories Book. The ATS accessories include a black chrome grille, Dual-Exhaust upgrade, 19" painted wheels, sueded steering wheel and shift knob, performance alloy pedals, rear deck spoiler in body color, premium trim and all-weather mats. Cadillac has your back.

I'm not a huge fan of the ATS but I think there's a lot of potential for the V model...Fill out the wheel wells, aggressive front end with an improved grill, hood, & splitter. Change up the back end with quad exhaust, 6 piston brakes, upgraded suspension & a potent motor...Hopefully they get aggressive.

To me the V2 is all about the front end over the base CTS visually. Obviously they is way more going on underneath.

Lower fascia needs more aero characteristics. Fake lower inlets and mesh look bad enough with the lower LED models but looks horrendous on models without lower LED. When are American car manufacturer going to realize that fake inlets, ducts, etc look fake. You're not fooling anyone. Kudos to D3 for creating a replacement but they need just an insert replacement, not an entire fascia replacement and for both models. I love the rest of the design.
