Anyone with trs intake/ can question

Hello, been running a trs intake and can for a long time now and recently removed it before going to dealer for service. This weekend I was going to reinstall and noticed that the female fitting on the 1/2" hose had an o-ring in it. So, I checked the other two female fittings on the 3/8" hose and there was no o-ring. I was under the impression that flare fittings like the ones on the catch can did not need o-rings to seal. Anyone who is bored today that would like to verify that there should be no o-rings on the female fittings going to the can? I would appreciate. I attached pictures.

I have an early design, so I'm not quite sure if mine's the same. Mine uses AN style fittings, so it does not use or need o-rings to seal. could you post an image of the can side fittings?

Sqkid89, I am sure all the fittings on my can are AN style, even the fitting on the intake tube itself. So they should not need any o-ring to seal, but my bottom fitting like transam00 had some oil around it and then when I disconnected the fitting I found the o-ring in the female fitting. Hmm. Maybe that's why the film of oil on transam ' s as well. Wonder if u have an o-ring in your bottom female fitting?

Sqkid89, mines the early design as well. Bought it when he first made them.

AN fittings require no gaskets and should not have any at all. They should seal perfectly without. I've moved hoses around and currently have an AN plug on my lower hose, no leaks. Clean up the fittings, take out the seal, and see what happens

Re: Anyone with trs intake/ can question

    Sqkid89,
I did exactly what you said and cleaned the flares and threads with brake cleaner to get the gunk out of them. Removed the o-ring on the lower 1/2" hose snuged it up and there was to much play in the fitting as it moved in and out when you move the hose and it definitely was not sealed. Probably why the o-ring was in there. So I rechecked the threads on the male fitting from the can and discovered one of the last threads bent, so I tightened down the female fitting enough to straighten out the marred thread. Anyway, there is no more play in that flare fitting and should seal fine. Still don't really know how that o-ring got in that female fitting as I know I didn't put it there, and doubt the fabricator did unless it was needed. Eitherway, Thanks for the help and I need to get that intake back on so I can hear the sound coupled with diablosport' s tune.
