I have been chomping at the bit to start this thread, so here goes.
My ATS is strapped to the dyno as I type this
Baseline pulls will ensue shortly, then we'll start tearing into this calibration and see what kind of safe, repeatable gains we can offer to the masses.
I'll keep you guys updated as progress is made
I would tell you nothing is safe with this 2.0t as there are a few guys with no tune that have had holes in pistons. Either you got a good engine from the factory or a defective one from the factory, and really no way to tell unless something happens. I know diablosport tunning will not cause engine failure, but if you have an engine with defective components then it's a matter of time tuned or not.
Ive been asking and no ones been answering. What all would I need to upgrade also when I start tuning and adding preformance upgrades to my ATS to ensure that it is capable of the extra Torque and HP gains.
Nothing. All of our development was done on a bone stock car. If you want more, there is another 20-25 rwhp and similar torque gains from a catless downpipe and further custom tuning.
Just got off the phone with MarylandSpeed regarding the Intune. So the intune has "your" latest tune for the Cadillac ATS? Also, with a K&N drop in filter and intake tubing (not CAI) will there be anything else I need to select when uploading the intune? Or would you need further data?
How long does this thing take to download the stock tune. I've been waiting 15 mins it's still at 0% and all my warning lights are on. I hope I didn't brick the car
are you positive you have the car in the correct mode? hold the start button for about 7-8 seconds until the light turns on green. anything else and it will fail. dont feel bad, i made the mistake myself the first time around...
I asked Mike L. this question a little while back. Their tune applies to all modes. He was a little surprised that anyone would want to turn off the new tune. The bulk of the posts here state that Diablosport worked really hard to increase both raw power and drivability so that the car felt balanced enough in all driving conditions to not need to "turn the tune off."
Hey mike, if us owners of intune ' s wanted to know if we installed the latest update on our cars is there a tell tale sign or a number we could look for in the info.xml file? It would be nice to know that when I revert back to stock then re flash diablo tune I could tell what version the diablo tune is. Basically looking to educate myself on how you read the info.xml file, or is there any menu in the handheld that will give you that information if you plug it in the obd II port? Thanks
Hello Mike. I received mines today. Tuned it with the Diablo Tune 93 + Firm Shift. It was knocking in high RPM's. I even added some octane booster, but that didn't help much (although I drove it right after I added it, maybe it needs to sit?).
I will post my log here. I restored back to factory for now.
Actually you will need to update the device by plugging it in to a PC with the usb cable. Be patient it takes while.
