Are throttle body spacers worth the money/performance on our cars?

Does anybody have experience or any familiarity with the gains/benefits of installing throttle body spacers on an ATS? I know the 3.6 ATS shares the same engine as the camaros but I haven't really looked into the forums and I also have a hard time believing these do much if anything of a noticeable performance gain..

I was looking at a Poweraid throttle body spacer

The only time a throttle body spacer does anything useful is when its got a nitrous jet in it. The rest is snake oil.

I believe its all snake oil, but if my memory serves wasn't part of the benefit supposed to be better atomization from putting the injectors a little farther from the intake valves? All the ATS engines are direct injection (the injectors are in the combustion chamber not in a throttle body like the old days).

Many moons ago, I put some carb spacers (called Swirlups) on a KZ1000 Kawasaki motorcycle.. They had a money back guarantee that they would add as much power as a set of racing carbs..

Accorded to the clocks at the local drag strip.. They made no more power than the stock carbs.. But there was a tremendous increase in the off idle torque.. I could come off the clutch a little over idle.. And carry the front wheel 3 inches off the ground.. Just rolling into the throttle.. The bike would leave the line like a rocket..

Carb spacers could serve a purpose, since it did help with atomization of the fuel, but our injectors are further down the line (like Hoosier Daddy noted). Any uber-minute air flow "straightening" is negated the second it get into the intake.
